Spring has sprung!

Hurray! It is finally starting to feel like spring here on the East Coast. It's not totally spring here (as I am writing this it is currently 35 degrees) but it sure did feel like it the other day and we totally took advantage of it.

We decided to walk to the park that is only about a mile away. We all wore jackets out of habit but we quickly learned that they were not necessary or wanted. It was a very sunny, 75 degree day and we loved every minute of it.

When we first moved to North Carolina, Landon was only about 7 months old and he still wasn't totally crawling. So, when we would go to this park he wasn't really that into it and had to put up with all of our crazy shenanigans for about 20 minutes before we decided that he was probably bored and left.

Bringing him now is a totally different experience. He can walk wherever his heart desires and really observes everything around him, near or far.

His favorite part was the slide. He went up and down that thing, over and over. He thought it was so fun and it was small and slow enough to let him go down by himself.

I also managed to take some creepy pics of Austin in the background of Landon. We sent these to Austin's parents in a text and they were worried for Landon's safety. Here is the first pic.

Hilarious! And then I sent them this one and they got it.

Love my simple life as a full time mommy. It's the little things like a warm play date at the park that makes you happy for your sweet little moments together as a family.

Catching Up.

Ok, once again, I am back to the blog to write about our little life. I am going to make it a goal to write more often but obviously my track record doesn't make it a very reachable objective but I will definitely try.

Last week we went to Myrtle Beach for Austin's Spring Break. I ended up finding a great deal on Groupon and we got to spend two days at the Beach and then 1 day at Ripley's aquarium. It was so fun to watch Landon discover all of the new things.

He loved to feel the sand on his toes and dig into it with his little plastic shovel. He also loved watching the waves crash into the shore. The water was freezing but he loved chasing the tide in and out. We finally had to drag him away just to get our feet out of that cold water.

Later, we went to our hotel's indoor pool to try and get some warm swim time. This is the first time Landon has really been aware that he is in a pool and he LOVED it! We took him swimming several times last summer but he didn't really get that into it. In fact, he fell asleep while I was holding him in the pool...TWICE! Anyway, it was really fun to watch him splash and play and really enjoy being in the water with us.

On our third day there, the weather was less than perfect. There were a few little rain storms that day so we decided to visit the local aquarium. It was a bit pricy but it was worth every penny. Landon absolutely loves fish (or any animal, really) so he had a great time wandering from tank to tank exploring all of the various fish. The highlights for us were touching these marine marvels. We got to pet stingrays, touch sharks, and hold crabs. It was a blast!

Another awesome part of this aquarium was walking through this tunnel into a tank. It was so beautiful and awesome to observe the fish, sharks, sea turtles, and other creatures swim all around us. We had so much fun and can't wait to visit again.
